ALC Coffee Morning, April 2011...

As Salaam,

After a lapse of one month of Nowruz celebration in Iran, this month's ALC Coffee Morning was kindly hosted by our gracious Malaysian colleague Madam Jakkiah Basran at the Malaysian Residence, on Sunday April 17th.

The morning gathering began with the host's usual welcome speech, preceded by a introductory remark from the outgoing ALC president, Mrs Angkana Sirivat. It was also a farewell occasion and to bid 'bon voyage' to one of our dearest, active and dedicated members, Mrs Hajah Norsinawaty, who will be leaving Tehran very soon.

During the morning meeting, Mrs Siti Timah Mamat from Malaysia, was unanimously declared and appointed as the new ALC president to succeed Mrs Angkana for the new session.

The highlight of the morning was a cooking presentation of delectable Iranian cuisine by an expert Iranian lady. There was also a mini bazaar showcasing of beautiful Malaysian handicraft and products, a raffle draw, and finally followed by a late morning breakfast of the well-known Malaysian 'nasi lemak'.

A great occasion to remember and to catch up with one another after a month-long hiatus.

Wassalam.

' the happiest couple' in Tehran...

As Salaam,

A farewell dinner reception for our dear brother, Haji Malai and dear sister Hajah Norsinawati...

After almost five years of hard work and dedicated service at the Embassy in Tehran, it is time to call it a day for our one and only home-based staff and his charming trailing spouse from Brunei. Since their very first day of arriving in Iran in June 2006, until now, we only have all the very pleasant and sweet moments and memories together, particularly with his better half who had been very instrumental, ever helpful and present whenever their help are needed.

Thank you so very very much for all your kind heartedness, understanding, cooperation, and most of all, your great friendship and companies through the good as well as the hard times together.

To both of you our dear brother and sister, we wish you every success always in your every endeavour, good luck and best wishes with your next adventure, be it at home territory or in your next posting destination.

May Allah SWT blesses you both with long, healthy and prosperous life ever after.

Wassalam.
