Indonesian cultural richness and diversity
Salaam,
This month's ASEAN Ladies Circle (ALC) Coffee Morning was kindly hosted by Ibu Malinar Wiranata-atmadja, wife of the Indonesian Ambassador to Iran. Held this morning at Wisma Indonesia, it was well-attended by ALC members as well as the three patrons - the trailing spouses. Being the last gathering for the year, it was also occasioned to bid farewell to Madam Sarapee, wife of the Thai Ambassador, who will be leaving Tehran upon completion of their tenure in Iran.
The highlight of the morning were demonstrations presented by the host herself, on how to prepare and make two Indonesian specialties..."Gado Gado Gulung" and "Sate Rumput." A very interesting program and an excellent presentation indeed. After sampling the dishes which were also served in the menu, I must congratulate Ibu Malinar and her team and very grateful to them for voluntarily and kindly sharing with us another rich, authentic and palatable Indonesian cuisines.
The morning gathering also saw admission and introduction of several new members, some light entertainments and followed by the usual ASEAN tradition and Indonesian hospitality - savouring the assortment and diversity of Indonesian appetizers, dishes, and sweets.
Wassalam.
