Salaam,
June/July 2009...In and around London...Left Cardiff central station mid morning on 30th June to spend a couple of days with the family in London, arriving at Paddington station almost around midday. After checking in at Brunei House on Cromwell Road, we embarked on our tour of the city, spending half a day admiring the currently most popular London tourist attraction, the London Eye. It was midweek but there seemed to be an unending stream of visitors and tourists around the Westminster area and River Thames. Hence we had to exert our way around the city that we've last visited about four years ago.
Based on the bank of the River Thames, the London Eye or previously known as the Millennium Wheel, is the world's largest observation wheel, standing at 135 metre high, and offering fantastic and breathtaking views of London.
Looking down to the west is the nearby Houses of Parliament with the famous Big Ben...which I guess does not need any further introduction.
Truly London is one of those cities with stunning architectural beauty, combining in stark contrast the old and the new - the London Eye and the Westminster Abbey and the Westminster Bridge in the backdrop.
Wassalam.
