Tehran Handicraft Fair...

Salaam,
A weeklong handicrafts trade fair has been held at a 200-year old Khanat Caravansaray, one of the many historical sites in southern Tehran. Organised by Iran's Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organisation (ICHHTO), the festival was launched last Monday, 7 June until 13 June.
We had the opportunity to visit the fair yesterday right after the Friday prayer. The fair opens from 3.00pm until 10.00pm daily. Handicrafts from 30 Iranian provinces were on display at more than 100 exhibition stalls set up in the premises. There were also some folklore musical troupes in tents which we understand perform at certain designated time during the fair.
Despite the scorching summer heat particularly in the open area of the caravansary, it was well participated and visited by the local as well some foreign visitors and tourists alike.
Wassalam.
