ALC Coffee Morning, June 2010...

Salaam,

It has been a while since our last Asean Ladies Circle's (ALC) Coffee Morning in December last year, hosted by our kind and graceful host Ibu Malinar Wiranataatmadja of Indonesia. This morning, once again, she had kindly offered to play host to our first meeting of Asean ladies in Tehran this year, after a lapse of almost half a year.

The morning program began with the election of the new ALC's president for the new session to succeed Ibu Luki Setiawan from Indonesia. Mrs Angkana of Thailand was unanimously elected as the new ALC president in accordance with the Asean member country's annual rotation.

It was also an occasion to introduce a new fellow patron from Thailand, Madam Chairawattana Israbhakdi, spouse of the new Thai Ambassador to Iran, who had just arrived in Tehran last April. Apart from that, it was also occasioned to bid farewell to two members of the group who will be leaving Tehran soon.

The highlight of the morning was a demonstration of a 'sugar flower' making by our special guest, none other than the multi-talented Haikal Joenes.

And as a usual Asean tradition, the guests were later entertained to and served with a potpourri of sumptuous Indonesian cuisines, again kindly prepared by our graceful host, the evergreen and charming Ibu Malinar.
