we are now into early summer in Tehran and its warmth and sunny spell can already be felt everywhere. It is also the time of the year once again for the Asean Sport and Cultural Committee (ASCC) of Tehran to reactivate its summer sports programs and cultural activities.
This year's curtain-raiser began with the Annual Asean Jogathon event early this morning at the huge and green Pardisan-Eco Park in central Tehran. The last similar event was held at the same venue about two years ago.
Organised and hosted by Brunei Embassy, it was enthusiastically and well-participated by all the other Asean missions, their family members as well several Asean communities residing in Tehran. The presence of a handful of Asean young children did really make this event a great Asean family gathering.
What made it even more merrier was the participation of our specially invited guests from the embassies of Kenya and Sri Lanka. Well-known for their excellent runners and marathon record holders, the participation of our distinguished guests from Kenya in particular, have indeed provided some kind of inspiration, enthusiasm and stimulation for all the participants to do well.
Heartiest congratulations to all the winners and great appreciations to all the distinguished guests and participants. Many thanks and appreciation to all our Iranian staff, the Pardisan Park authority and not least our gratitude also goes to the ASCC committee members for their continued and overwhelming support in helping to make this morning's event another great success story. Look forward to seeing everyone once again at our next sporting events.
Wassalam.
