This evening invited with hubby along with other members of the diplomatic corps and spouses to the "Global Celebration of Nowruz, held in conjunction with the Iranian New Year at the magnificent Vahdat Hall at Hafez Avenue. It was a great evening further honored with the gracious presence of the honorable President and several of his counterparts/representatives from Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Turkey and Azerbaijan...some of the regional countries observing and celebrating similar Nowruz tradition.
The evening's ceremony included medley of Iranian traditional and folk songs, performances from distinguished Iranian orchestra group, ancient sport troupe, poem recital, and display of the Nowruz's Haft-seen table decoration. Outside the main hall, exhibits of Iranian handicrafts and artistry were also being held.
A spectacular celebration and showcase of a proud Iranian cultural heritage at its best.
