Home Sweet Home...(1)

Salaam,
Our month and a half long home vacation began with a brief stopover and a two-night stay in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Landed at KLIA on a Friday afternoon, I was truly amazed to see how KL and its surrounding areas has been drastically transformed over the last decades or so. I remember our last days of residing in this bustling city was way back in 1984-1987, trailing my hubby on his very first diplomatic assignment abroad.
Today I must admit that we could easily lost our way around. Gone were the days of Sungai Wang Plaza, Yow Chuan Plaza, Benteng Food stall and Globe Silk Store. Surprisingly, Ampang Park still remains where it was and we made a quick tour around and even managed to order 'laksa Penang' at one of the few hawker stalls there.
The city's new skyline really mesmerized us. With its fantastic infrastructure, state of the art transportation and communication system, KL has indeed been greatly developed so much over such a remarkably short span of time since our last and brief visit there in late 1999.
Wassalam...
