Growing Up in Iran...

Pic by courtesy of MHS (HS Photography and Travels), 31 January 2010

Salaam,
Its February 28th today...an auspicious day for our sweet little daughter. After spending almost five years with us in Tehran, she had seen and experienced a great deal of ups and downs of living far away from the comfort of home sweet home. But most of all, the gloomyness, sombre-ness and sadness of being left behind and of having to say goodbye to all her good friends and classmates every now and then...are just too much to bear...
Growing up in foreign lands eversince her toddler's day had nevertheless enriched her with valuable experiences, essence and adventures of life. Indeed it was the eve of her 9th birthday when we landed in this country for the first time on that cold February evening five years ago. And since then she had been celebrating all of her four consecutive birthdays in Tehran, the last being the beginning of her adolescence age on this very day last year...
And as you celebrate your birthday today, our dearest daughter, we wish you the very best, life filled with joy, peace and happiness and countless dreams come true. Today, you may well have grown up, but in our hearts, you will always be our special sweet little baby girl. May you be successful always in your study, and may Allah the Almighty shower His choicest blessings upon us all, always, Amin...
Wassalam...

Five Years On Today...

Tehran's choking traffic...
Salaam,
I still vividly remember the very day we first step our feet in Iran...it was Sunday, the 27th day of February 2005 corresponding with 18th Muharram 1426. After a two-hour flight from Dubai, the Emirate airbus plane EK 977 landed safely at Mehrabad International airport at 1955hrs Tehran local time.
And from then began our new life, and indeed my new adventure as a trailing spouse in the land of Persia...the cradle of civilisation. And here we are, exactly five years on today, still breathing the same air, atmosphere and shall I say, monotonous yet fulfilling life on the move...
Wassalam.

Signs of Spring...

Salaam,
Spring is in the air...and the signs are everywhere...budding flowers, receding snowline on mountain peaks and highlands, and sensing of pleasant weather coming back to the city...
Three weeks to the beginning of Springs...yet in most part of Tehran, colorful flowers in full blossom and greenery are already visible...everywhere.
Thanks and Praise be to Allah the Almighty for all the good tidings and things in life...all are indeed signs of His greatness and blessings to all mankind...
Wassalam.
