A Taste of Thai Food...

sawasdee kha...

Salaam,

Just came back from another invitation from one of our close friends from ASEAN. The Thai Ambassador and his lovely lady Madam M.L. Chiravattana Israbhakdi had just hosted a buffet dinner to introduce and promote the famed and exotic selection of Thai cuisines and sweets. Hence the informal garden party was dubbed as "A Taste of Thai Food."

Being accustomed with Thai cuisines and cultures after almost five years of living in Thailand, we have no difficulty whatsoever in finding our way and choosing the almost very familiar dishes and sweets prepared so meticulously and elegantly by our Thai friends. But still we could never get enough to choose from the wide array and variety of delectable and delicious Thai dishes on display.

The green curry, the sweet and sour 'Pla kapong,' the 'Som Tam' and not to mention the ever popular 'phat Thai Talay' and 'Tom Yam Goong' really bring back the nostalgic feeling and aura of our good old days in the 'Land of the Smile.'

Well-done and many congratulations to our dear Thai colleagues and all our Thai friends for kindly organising the most unforgettable evening and for the very gracious invitation. Khrap khun ma kha...

Wassalam.

Another Birthday in Tehran...

Salaam,

Celebrating yet another quiet but extra special anniversary in a far away land, far away from the circle of loved ones, except just the two of us, again...

Thanks to the FB, there have been a seemingly non-ending messages of prayers, greetings and well-wishers on such a wonderful day. At least it did make my day less sombre and joyless.

And once again many thanks also to hubby for the everlasting love and affection shown and reiterated on my auspicious day. Not least special thanks and love to my beloved son, daughter and his fiance who have always been there and around to inspire, to cheer me up and helped brighten up my otherwise gloomy day.

And to all my colleagues and friends, sisters and brothers, in-laws, nieces and nephews, cousins...thank you so very very much from the bottom of my heart...for all your kind thoughts, prayers and beautiful and inspiring greetings.

May we all be blessed always by Allah the Almighty, with good health, success and happiness ever after, amin ya Rabbul a'lamin. Loving you all.

Wassalam.

Our 'Lepak' & Leisure Day...

Salaam,

Getting together to unwind and catching up with colleagues, friends and their families is something hard to come by especially during the weekdays full of rountines and seemingly non-ending functions. However after a full weekdays programs, we managed to organise our first wonderful summer 'lepak' or get-together yesterday. Not a grand occasion though but just a very casual weekend retreat among us and our Malaysian friends, letting out all the stresses, depressions and pressures of work and life in the city.

Hopefully we would be able to enjoy the delight and pleasure of unwinding in the comfort of home, friends and families as often as we could again, particularly when one have to endure all the challenges and uncertainties of life as trailing spouses, children and families away from home sweet home.

Wassalam.
