Summer Break 2009...(10)

Salaam,
July 2nd...Still in London, and our plan on the third day was to visit another famous attraction...Madame Tussauds. It was late morning and we're lucky to catch on a bus from Kensington to Oxford Street and thereon to Baker Street. When we arrived, the queue had already stretched a few metres long down Marylebone Road.
Well, who doesn't know Madame Tussauds. This is a place of famous waxworks of contemporary and historical figures. A place to rub shoulders with J.Lo, Beckham, Travolta and Shahrukh Khan. It is also a place to confront the world's biggest leaders as you take your place on the world's biggest political stage.
The sideshow really provides an extremely enjoyable outing, and worth the hour long queueing-up time for the admission tickets.
Wassalam.

Summer Break 2009...(9)

Westfield Centre, London

Salaam,
July 1st...Our second day in London, was basically spent exploring the new and massive shopping mall in London...Westfield Shopping Centre at Shepherd's Bush. Its simply awesome and stunning. Went there for the very first time with the family, it was really an entirely new experience and something different from the usually crowded Oxford Street and other similarly conventional shopping areas that we've visited in the city.
The atmosphere is great...calm and relaxed, the building itself is of modern concept. There food court is pretty impressive and we spent quite a while enjoying our sushi lunch there. As far as the shops are concerned, everything you need you'll find it there. No wonder it is described as Europe's largest urban shopping, covering 43 acres, with 265 shops and 40 places to eat and two big supermarkets, among other facilities. Its a pity that we could not capture the beautifully designed interior of the complex with our SLR, for security reason. Shopping aside, there was indeed a great feeling of space around the centre which also makes it very light, airy and easy to get around. Incredible place, definitely worth a visit and a day out...
The evening was merely spent rendezvous-ing at Delima Malaysian restaurant, in the heart of London's Edgware Road and Paddington. Dinner was at the kind invitation of old and closest friends of us and their families, reminiscing our good old times of our high school days together...
Wassalam.

Sawatdee Kaa Khun Sarapee...

Salaam,
And its time to say goodbye again...The farewell dinner hosted by all Asean HOMs in Tehran and their spouses for our Thai friend, Ambassador Kriangsak and his lovely wife, our dear friend Khun Sarapee, was held on Monday evening at Ramtin's Bistango restaurant.
A lovely and eventful evening (minus the usual karaoke session though), and also an opportunity to meet and welcome Malaysia's new envoy, Ambassador Mohammad Sadik Kethergany.
To our dear Khun Sarapee, we wish you and Ambassador Kriangsak, all the best wishes and every success in your new assignment, hoping one day to be able to cross each other's path once again, and a very happy new year 2010...Sawasdee Pimai ...sawatdee Kaa...
Wassalam.
