Tehran Flower Show...

khosh amadid...

Salaam,
And welcome back.
At least during the last few days Tehran’s weather seems to be getting better each day. Mild and sunny but not so warm during the day. It’s still early spring here, but the flowers in our little front garden are already blossoming. The roses, lilies and daffodils in red, yellow, white and pink are ready for the picking.
Speaking about flowers, today I had the opportunity to visit the 7th Tehran International Exhibition of Flowers and Plants at Goftegoo Park along the Chamran Highway. It was organized by the Tehran Municipality and inaugurated by the Chairman of the Expediency Council and the Mayor yesterday.
Arriving at the exhibition hall at around 11.00 am, apparently the place was already packed with flora and fauna lovers and enthusiasts. Dozens of domestic and foreign companies were displaying their products including floral companies from Holland, Italy, China and Spain. Beside the six large exhibition halls, the displays of all kinds of exotic flowers, plants and landscaping were also held outdoors. A very comprehensive exhibition indeed - plants for the green space, house plants and flowers, cut flowers, you name it…
The different varieties of roses, lilies and anthurium really attracted the attention of many a visitor. Me too, couldn’t help myself clicking as many images as I possibly could in the midst of the crowd.
The exhibition is scheduled to last until this Saturday. It is being dubbed as Tehran’s biggest flower and plant exhibit. With all the pictures that I managed to capture today, I hope to share the beauty and serenity of Iranian gardens as manifested in this exhibition. Hopefully it will also lead to the blossoming of the longstanding tradition of love of flowers and nature among us.
Wassalam.
