Our Homely Brunch Today...

Salaam,
It's Thursday today and beside a normal weekend, it is also a public holiday in Iran (and for the Embassy), not because it is the first day of April though...it so happens to coincide with the anniversary of the Day of the Islamic Republic of Iran...
And instead of a late breakfast, decided to have a modest and homely brunch just for two... starting with a home-made 'bakso' (chicken meatball), and fish head curry, minus the usual santan or coconut milk, as our main dish. First attempt to make the santan-less curry which I just discovered and learned from a Malaysian friend (specialising in northern Malaysian state's cuisines) who had so kindly invited us to dinner recently. (Kheyli mamnoon Aghaye va Khanoume Nazmi for the very invaluable tip).
And as for the 'bakso,' it was also a first and successful attempt by our diligent and talented Indonesian helper. It came out to be just perfect...as tasty and yummy, if not better than most of the meatballs that we've tasted before...
Wassalam.
