ALC Charity Bazaar 2008

Brunei Stall

Salaam,

The ASEAN Ladies Circle (ALC) of Tehran, in cooperation with the ASEAN embassies in Tehran, organized a charity bazaar on Friday, 2 May, 2008. It was held at the chancery of the Embassy of the Philippines. It was participated by the six ASEAN missions in Tehran (Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam) as well as the embassies of China and South Korea, and the United Nations World Population Fund (UNWPF).

The bazaar was aimed at showcasing ASEAN products, handicrafts and food items to the Iranian public, as well as to raise fund in support of the less fortunate society in Iran. The bazaar was resumed after it was last held in 2004.

The Embassy of Brunei Darussalam participated in the bazaar and prepared some food items for sale such as the popular Brunei prawn crackers, fried noodles, ‘mee soto’, curry puff, spring rolls, satay and corned beef, and fruit cakes. Also on display and for sale are some Bruneian handicrafts such as handbags and hats. Many thanks goes to our Third Secretary Malai Haji Zulrizman and his wife Hajah Norsinawaty, and our staff member Ms Malai Zakara, for all their kind contribution and hard work in helping to make the event a great success.

Congratulations and well done ALC....

Wassalam.
