Salaam,
It was such a lovely Saturday and the weather was not too cold, with lots of sunshine...just fine and bearable.
Decided to have our lunch at one of the new and recently opened Japanese/Asian restaurant somewhere off the main Africa/Jordan Street and Vali Asr Road. Recommended by our staff member sometime ago, we actually did try some of its take-away menus already.
Over the last couple of years, we haven't seen as many Asian or oriental restaurants opening up in Tehran except for the few established ones. However, of late there seems to be a surge, with more and more trying to catch up. I guess the Iranians are beginning to appreciate more and more the authenticity and richness of our delectable Asian cuisines here. Saporo for instance, is not only about Japanese sushis but, as its name implies, also serves varieties of other fine Asian cuisines...from Chinese fried rice, Sichuan and Hokkien noodle, Mongolian lamb, Vietnamese chicken salad, Singapore noodles, and even Malaysian fish curry and chicken kapitan.
My rating: awesome food, more choices of home style cooking and menu, nice and pleasant interior decor, excellent service and reasonably priced.
Another appropriate choice and cosy spot for a quiet evening rendezvous or for a casual and formal dining experience.
Wassalam.
